Lacquerware produced in Kyoto are known as “Kyo Shikki” and have a history that dates back over 1200 years. During the Muromachi era, Kyo Shikki became increasingly famous as the tea ceremony culture grew. Through its design, Kyo Shikki illustrates the Japanese tradition of mindfulness and finding beauty in imperfections known as Wabi Sabi. It’s also known for its long-lasting quality, as well as its elegant design and finish.
