The Mizu is a reusable filtered water bottle for students. This unique and sustainable project is to create reusable water bottles for college students as most campuses are bringing in awareness and banning the use of disposable water bottles as an initiative to save the environment. Developed for Rubbermaid with a regular size of 700ml, these reusable bottles are made of Tritan plastic, Stainless Steel, and Kishu Bichotan Charcoal. Coming in various available sizes, these reusable bottles are minimalist, modern, sustainable, eco-friendly, unique, and stylish. Designed to purify drinking water in a simple and unique way, these are easy to carry and truly clean bottles. The Mizu, so called from the Japanese word for water, features Kishu Binchotan Charcoal as the means to purify water. This charcoal has beneficial properties and acts as the filter. Thereby making these stylish bottles come with their own unique filter. Originated 1,200 years ago in Japan, Binchotan charcoal is formed from wood and is prepared by raising its temperature to 1000 degrees and then cooling it rapidly. This process leaves a remarkably smooth and hard surface. This resulting charcoal is incredibly porous that allows it to trap the impurities easily which may be dissolved in the drinking water. Through this purifying process, minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and iron are released into the water.
