The Iris lamp transforms at the touch of a hand to create a beautiful atmosphere of light that will wow any guest. Brought to you by Yael Erel and Avner Ben Natan, Iris is designed to make a bold visual statement. Vegetable steamers inspired the original Iris prototype and it has since evolved into a line of modern, yet functional accent pieces.
Like the head of a flower, the lamps open and close, as well as rotate and tilt, to adjust the ambience in the room. The double aperture mechanism is designed so that when one side closes, the other opens, allowing for any number of lighting conditions from one lamp.
The inside of each Iris lamp is reflective so that it casts patterned ambient light onto the ceiling and walls. You can also adjust the shape to create direct light for a task, or enjoy a more intimate light at a different angle.
Each Iris lamp is made up of 30 “petals,” hand crafted and assembled in Troy, NY. The Iris is available as a small hanging pendant, large hanging pendant, floor lamp, and a small table/desk lamp. They come in both a brass and stainless steel finish, and lightexture products that use energy-efficient LED bulbs.
