Designed and hand-crafted in Columbia, the Houd wireless speaker system offers a warm, rich sound without the need for batteries or electricity. The music transmitted through the hollow body of the sound system is naturally amplified from your iDevice or smartphone to create a sound that is two to four times louder than your device’s internal speakers.
Founders of Houd, David Sandoval and Gustavo Huertas, began collaborating on a design in 2012 for a home speaker that would offer consumers a more stylish and sustainable alternative to conventional sound systems. It was important that the Houd sound system not only produced high fidelity sound but also add a beautiful, aesthetic appeal to its surrounding environments.
Without the finicky buttons, knobs, cords, and switches of a typical iPod Dock, the design of the Houd wireless sound box is the essence of simplicity.
What sets the Houd speaker apart from other wireless sound systems on the market is the company’s commitment to quality, aesthetic appeal, and sustainable materials. Unlike most iPod Docks which are made from cheap flimsy plastic or metal, the beautiful green design of the Houd doubles as an elegant piece of decor that you can proudly display in your living room, bedroom, or office.
The natural acoustic notes that emanate from the sound box can be attributed to the expensive solid hardwood (the same wood found in musical instruments) used in the design of the speakers. In addition to the high-quality material, each speaker is made from sustainably-sourced hardwood and crafted by talented Columbian artisans. In keeping with the company’s commitment to green design, each speaker is coated in an environmentally-friendly alternative to veneer.
Houd speakers are compatible with all generations of iPhones, iPads, and other smartphones that do not exceed a width of 9cm and are equipped with a bottom speaker.
