GRAIN Lamp: Unique Bamboo Fibre Shade

Intricate and complex designs, while impressively beautiful, can sometimes be overwhelming.  This especially holds true when it comes to trying to get multiple pieces to match in one space.  Swedish designer Jens Fager takes an honest approach to design, creating simple, minimalistic products that are easily incorporated into any space.  A graduate of Konstfack University, his most recent creation, Grain, is a beautifully minimalistic lamp with a bamboo fibre shade. grain_02 (738x491) A pendant lamp, Grain hangs from the ceiling by a rubber cord, coloured to match the shade.  Its simple dome shape with a slight upturned lip makes it the ideal silhouette for any room. grain_01 (738x492) But its defining feature, the truly unique aspect, is the lamp’s composition.  A combination of bamboo and polypropolene, Grain is an environmentally friendly, natural beauty.  The flecks of bamboo fibres can clearly be seen along the shade’s surface, adding subtle texture and colour variation to the product. grain_03 (738x490) The lamp is sold with an LED light bulb that gives off a “natural light with a warm glow”, lasting up to 10,000 hours. Currently, Grain is available in six different colours: black, nature, dusty red, dusty green, grey, and white. So make interior design simple but not boring with Fager’s Grain lamp, available online at Muuto, a Scandinavian design curating website. Archiexpo
