Finger Reader: Index Finger Gadget that Helps the Blind Read Text

Finger Reader is a ring-like device that reads printed texts out loud for people who have lost their sight. With the use of its mounted camera and modified open source software, it can read printed text with a synthesized voice. By pointing your finger at what you wish to read, you can hear the words that are written out loud. When the Finger Reader vibrates, it means the reader has reached the end of the line. It is currently being worked on at MIT’s Media Labs by researchers Roy Shilkrot, Jochen Huber, and the rest of their team. Video:
